Kathy Terzinski, LCPC

Kathy Terzynski, LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and a fully trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. Kathy received her Master of Arts/Science degree from Roosevelt University. 

Kathy works with adults and adolescents. In addition to helping individuals with anxiety, depression and adjustments to life changes, Kathy has specialized training in the treatment of Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). For the past 5 years she has worked at Ecker Center for Mental Health in Elgin as a counselor, intake specialist, an emergency psychiatric therapist, and currently is the Clinical Supervisor of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation program.

Inspired by her experiences with trauma, Kathy has focused on learning effective interventions for working with those who have been traumatized by the force of nature or at the hands of others to overcome the suffering and build transcending resiliency and hope. 

Kathy’s intensive training in EMDR has provided the foundation from which she has helped victims of child abuse, sexual abuse, those overcome with guilt of things that happened to them or things they should have done, witnesses of horrific crimes, and a other traumatic experiences. Kathy strives to help people process and overcome the events of the past and prosper in the present and future.

Kathy is an avid bicyclist, gardener, volunteer, church member and Green Bay Packer football fan. She is available for appointments Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Kathy can be reached at (815) 477-2270, ext. 13.
